Simon qualified in 1990 from the University of Bristol. After a year of vocational training Simon joined the practice in 1992.

He enjoys looking after his patients in a kind and caring environment and to a very high standard. Simon has an interest in quality general and cosmetic dentistry. In 1998 he undertook a year long post-graduate course in the different implant systems available and has been placing Straumann implants since.

Simon is a member of the ITI (International Team for Implantology) and both the Bristol and South West implant study groups.

Outside of dentistry Simon enjoys family life and a healthy interest in cycling, cricket, the garden, dog walking and being outdoors.

Mariana qualified as a dentist in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2012 and joined our team in 2026. Passionate about high-quality care, she loves helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their smiles. Outside the practice, Mariana enjoys time with her family and is learning to ice skate.

Joseph has practised orthodontics for 30 years and is registered as an Orthodontic Specialist with the General Dental Council. Graduating in Dentistry from the University of Glasgow in 1992, he spent time in general practice before enrolling as a postgraduate at Newcastle Dental School, where he gained a Master’s degree in Restorative (Cosmetic) Dentistry in 1994. After two further years as a member of clinical staff at Newcastle Dental Hospital, he was elected as a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and awarded the College certificate for best performance by examination in 1995. Subsequently, he was appointed Registrar in Orthodontics at Bristol Dental School in 1996 and completed his specialist orthodontic training by examination in 1999, gaining his Membership in Orthodontics (M.Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. A further Master of Science degree was completed in 2000 at the University of Bristol.

Joseph has worked in Jersey for the last 15 years and leads one of only two orthodontic specialist-led teams working in practice on the island. He also currently works with secondary care colleagues to reduce the island’s hospital orthodontic waiting list. His clinical interests are in children’s orthodontics and complex adult cases using fixed appliances and aligners, and he has a keen interest in the use of technology to optimise treatment efficiency and outcomes.

Joseph has also held administration posts in healthcare. From 2016-2021, he was the Orthodontic Chair for the South West of England clinical network, which liaised and advised NHS England on orthodontic services.

Kelly’s journey into dentistry is quite unique. In 2015, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from The University of West England. Interestingly, after completing her Art Degree, she found herself drawn to the world of dentistry and decided to stay, never looking back. It was also within this industry that she met her now husband.

Kelly has been an integral part of our team since qualifying in 2021 from the University of Cardiff.
She brings a wealth of experience to our clinic, having worked as a dental practice manager and as a Dental Nurse in general and surgical dentistry. Kelly is incredibly passionate about her role and is dedicated to educating others about oral health.

Outside of her professional life, Kelly is an avid traveller who loves exploring the globe and embarking on adventures in her VW Campervan. She has set a personal goal of reading at least fifteen books a month and enjoys finding quiet corners to indulge in her reading. When she’s not immersed in a book, she cherishes spending time with her family and her beloved dogs, Nala and Stiorra.

Laura began her dental career as a dental nurse in the private sector, where she spent over five years and discovered her passion for dental hygiene and therapy. She qualified with distinction from the University of Sheffield in 2024.

Laura has a real skill for putting patients at ease and a keen interest in the management of periodontal disease.

Outside of work, she enjoys staying fit with Reformer Pilates, running and walking her miniature Yorkie, Suzie. She is currently busy renovating her home and planning a wedding!

Liberty joined The Dental Clinic Portishead in November 2025, bringing with her 10 years of experience in dentistry.

Andrea has been an integral part of The Dental Clinic Portishead team since 1992. With decades of experience and a friendly, reassuring approach, she is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to every patient. Andrea’s expertise and commitment have made her a valued member of the team and a familiar, trusted face in the practice

Sandra joined The Dental Clinic Portishead in 2010 and has been a dedicated member of the team ever since. With her warm, approachable manner and strong commitment to patient care, she helps ensure every visit is calm, welcoming, and well supported. Sandra takes pride in building positive relationships with patients and contributing to the smooth running of the practice.

Julie joined the practice as a Receptionist just over 2 years ago. Prior to this Julie worked at Rolls-Royce for 25 years in a secretarial/PA role.

In her spare time Julie enjoys meeting friends, spending time with my family and watching my youngest son play football. I also play walking football in an attempt to keep fit!

Jayne has worked within the dentistry industry for over 40 years. As a previous practice manager for The Dental Clinic Portishead. Jayne moved positions within the clinic and works part time as registered dental nurse at Portishead. Jayne enjoys caring for patients, and working with a great and enthusiastic team.
